Spellbound River brings the Galaxy Games back to Earth

Socorro, NM – Spellbound River Press, a new independent publisher devoted to middle grade fiction, has acquired two new books by Massachusetts Author Greg R. Fishbone, continuing the author’s Galaxy Games series that was previously published by the Tu Books imprint of Lee & Low Books.

“I’m thankful to Spellbound River for helping me continue the story of Tyler and his friends,” Fishbone said. “Readers will find more Galaxy to explore, and more Games to enjoy.”

Hailed by Publisher’s Weekly as “every alien-obsessed kid’s dream come true,” the Galaxy Games series follows 13-year-old Tyler Sato and his international team of child athletes through an interstellar tournament against alien kids from across the Milky Way.

The series is notable for having a diverse cast that showcases many cultures. “A team that represents Earth has to represent all of Earth,” Fishbone said. “And my daughters would be all over me if the girls on the team weren’t just as capable as the boys.”

The first all-new Galaxy Games title from Spellbound River will be The Amorphous Assassin, scheduled for a Fall 2016 release, followed up by The Mad Messenger in Spring of 2017. As the tournament opens, a shadowy conspiracy is on the move, and Tyler finds himself fighting for his life against a shape-shifting killer.

“Things get a little crazy, as usual, and Earth needs a hero who can save the world with his eyes closed and hands tied behind his back,” Fishbone said. “Will Tyler be up to the task? You’ll have to read the books to find out!”
